About Us
Robert Carter L.P.C. received his Bachelor of Science degree from the
University of Missouri, and a Masters in Guidance and Counseling at
Southwest Missouri State University. Since receiving his education he
worked at the Missouri Victim's Center for a year. He also worked at the
Family Health Medical Center in Crisis counseling tor three years. For over
20 years Robert has worked in a private practice counseling children,
adults, couples and families in trauma, in which he specializes.

Matt Stocks LPC graduated from Evangel University with a masters in
Clinical Psychology. He  is in his ninth year of being a Licensed Professional
Counselor. Although Matt works with a variety of ages, he enjoys working
with kids and teenagers and their families. He has been working with kids
and teenagers for over 16 years in a variety of fields including being a
youth minister.  He currently not taking any new patients.

Ann Elliot L.C.S.W. attended Drury College in Springfield Missouri where
she received her education in psychology and theatre. Ann is a Licensed
Clinical Social Worker, Certified Domestic Violence Counselor,  an
Autplay ® Therapy Level II Certification therapist and a Certified Criminal
Justice Specialist. She is also a trauma specialist, being trained and is
nationally rostered in Cognitive Processing Therapy and has been trained
for years in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for children.
Ann has worked in the mental health field for over 35 years.  She also
conducts workshops for other professionals on many topics such as trauma
and play therapy. For individuals who seek spiritual counseling, Ann has
over 30 years of Biblical research and advanced studies in this particular
field. Ann has served on the board of Missouri Association for Play Therapy
from 2011 until 2017.
Ann Elliot was honored the Missouri 2012 Play Therapist of the year
award in a community setting. This award is given by Missouri

Ann has written a chapter in the book DAYS IN THE LIVES OF SOCIAL WORKERS, 4th
EDITION. The book is a collection of first-person accounts of “typical” days in the
social work profession. The book is designed to give readers a firsthand, close-up look
at the real-life experiences of these professionals, and to provide an overview of
many of the career options available in social work. Ann Elliot’s chapter, entitled
“Play Therapy and Bullying,” is one of 58 chapters chosen for publication in this book.
This book is often used in colleges and university to help expose future social workers
to the wide variety of careers in this field.
